Dementia-Friendly Swimming – this is an 8-week project where people living with dementia and their carers come along on a Wednesday 12.30-1.30pm for a free dementia-friendly swim. A swim teacher is present at these sessions to support participants with any advice they need. There is no pressure to swim at these sessions; some people like to attend purely to spend time in the water.
Inclusive Swimming – this is an ongoing swimming session on Fridays 7-8pm aimed at people with disabilities and mobility issues; carers are also welcome. This session runs similarly to the dementia-friendly session in that a swimming teacher is present.
Kentish Town boasts accessible facilities such as ramps, low door handles, and accessible toilets and changing rooms. We also have accessible equipment such as pool hoists; this includes our Poolpod, which you can read more about here
